The Abt TT-limited wide body – power and exclusivity in one package
Following on from the standard Abt TT-limited, the tuner presented an even more special version: the Abt TT-limited wide body. This made its debut in a right-hand drive version at the IAA and was based on the 225 hp Audi TT Coupé. Abt increased the power to no less than 310 hp, which, together with the modified body kit, resulted in a distinctive and impressive overall package.
The interior was largely taken from the TT-limited, but the wide body stood out visually thanks to its 18-centimetre wider bodywork – a modification that gave the car an extremely muscular appearance. The kit was already available separately (see box), but in this version everything was brought together into one complete model.
The wide body could compete with serious sports cars in terms of performance: a top speed of 254 km/h and a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. However, you had to pay a hefty surcharge for this exclusivity. On top of the purchase price of a new Audi TT Coupé 225 hp, there was an additional € 22,867* for Abt options. In return, you got a rare and striking model, often spotted in sparkling Imolagelb, which further emphasised its wide shape.

Known examples
As far as we know, only 10 examples were made: at least 6 for the UK, and 4 in other countries. At one point, it was assumed in England that only 6 remained. Based on the examples known in 2025 (5 in the UK alone), this is a bit pessimistic. And probably it is more the number in the UK. Below is a collection of a number of known examples.

Abt previously supplied the wide body as a complete set | |
There is no doubt that the Abt TT-limited wide body based on the Coupé is a rarity. But if you open the Abt brochure from 2000, you will discover that the German tuner had already been working on wide body models before that. In addition to two Coupé versions, there is also a Roadster on display. The conversion kit was only supplied complete with installation and consisted of: front spoiler and grille, fender extensions, skirts, rear bumper, rear spoiler and diffuser, as well as visible carbon fibre attachments for the front spoiler and skirts, supplemented with Abt A27 sports rims, sports suspension and stainless steel exhaust system with two double tailpipes. | © sim-1078 | eBay |
