A touch of style and a competitive price - that's the Audi TT Design Édition. In 2004, Audi France launched this special series, exclusively for the French market, as a Coupé and Roadster with 150 hp. Only 130 examples left the factory in this version, which immediately gave this series a special place in TT history.

With an attractive starting price of €28,880* for the Coupé and €30,930* for the Roadster, this edition was even €1,000 cheaper than the standard 150 hp variant. A remarkable deal for such a stylish package - especially when combined with the sleek equipment and unique finish.

But did it stick to 130?

Although the series began as a limited edition, the Design Édition trim remained available in the French Audi catalogue after 2004. This raises the question of whether it really stayed with those original 130 examples. Moreover, the series evolved:

  • A 163 hp Coupé version was added in 2005,
  • In 2006, the Design Édition only came as a Coupé, with choices of 150, 163, 180, 190, 225 and even 250 hp.

Extra attractive: financing
Audi France made the offer even more enticing. New buyers had access to attractive financing options, with interest rates as low as 3.90% - unprecedentedly favourable for a sporty coupé or roadster with style.

The finish of the Design édition is distinguished in particular by the specific rims:

Interior equipment

  • Leather gear knob
  • Theft alarm (Roadster)

Exterior equipment

  • Aluminium rims 7.5Jx17 in 5-spoke design Caressa (8N0 071 492 666)

Paint colours

  • Standard colours

Some sources speak that only the colours Brillantrot LY3J and Brillantschwarz LY9B were available. But on French occasion sites, the other colours also regularly pop up. So it could also well be that quite soon other engines besides the 150 hp could be fitted with the rims and the price advantage. A marketing move to keep sales numbers of the Audi TT 8N up somewhat?
