The idea
The Audi TT ascari Roadster mono and biposto were created in 1999 with the support of Audi AG, based on an Audi TT Roadster. These unique models offer an unrivalled driving experience with a standard 1-seater and an optional 2-seater.

The history of ascari
The history of ascari dates back to 1907, when the company evolved from a locksmith shop to a high-performance car company. Since 1960, ascari has been a Volkswagen dealer and from 1975 Audi as well. In 1998, the ascari car factory was established to refinish Volkswagen and Audi cars. And as of 2011, ascari is an official VW Classic Competence Centre.

An unforgettable Roadster experience

The Audi TT ascari Roadster offers maximum Roadster feeling. With no hood or windscreen, wind and noise become tangible. Specific modifications ensure this unique experience:

  • Minimal windscreen for the ultimate Roadster experience
  • Rear-view mirror mounted raised on the dashboard
  • Slim exterior mirrors
  • Additional spoiler lip on the front bumper
  • 5 cm raised and reinforced roll bar(s) for added safety
  • Recaro seat(s) for maximum comfort
  • Powerful 4-piston brake system
  • Modified suspension with improved spring and damper characteristics

History and owner mono and biposto

The idea was to make a small series of 40 with a price of about DM 149,000 for the 1-seater. This small series never materialised; both models ended up remaining as one-off prototypes, according to the info on the ascari website. The first owner of the prototypes was Audi AG, followed by ascari. Both vehicles were registered and thus allowed on public roads.

The technology
The technology is impressive: the standard 1.8-litre turbo engine delivers 164 kW of power, powering the Ascari Biposto prototype.
