Abt Sportsline

Abt Sportsline is a German car and motorcycle tuner based in Kempten im Allgäu. Abt specialises in tuning cars from the Volkswagen Group. Abt has also launched several of its own customised versions of the Audi TT. These versions are recognisable by the characteristic Abt body kits, exhaust systems with two double tailpipes and the unique Abt rims. Engine tuning is standard.

Abt or ABT Sportsline
We deliberately write Abt in lowercase letters. In the years of the TT 8N, this was the spelling used by the German company from Kempten im Allgäu itself. This is despite the fact that nowadays the brand itself uses ABT in uppercase letters.

Over the years, the following Abt models have been launched on the market:

2000 - Abt TT-limited
2002 - Abt TT-Sport

2001 - Abt TT-limited wide body

2002 - Abt TT-Limited II
2006 - Abt TT-R BT350

Abt Sportsline and the DTM
Abt was active as a private team in the DTM for a number of years (2000-2003) with the Abt-Audi TT-R DTM. The first races were won in 2001, and the team was most successful in 2002. That year, Frenchman Laurent Aiello won the first championship for Abt at the Zandvoort circuit. From 2004 onwards, it became a factory team and the TT body was replaced by the body of an A4.

ABT Sportsline has now been competing in the DTM for 25 years.
