From its earliest days, the Audi TT 8N was optionally available with an factory radio. A radio that fit neatly behind the character flap and matched in terms of colour to the dashboard lighting.

Many TT drivers are looking for the Audi radio concert these days. This is for its original look and ability to play CDs. However, what is less known is that in the lifetime of the TT, the radio concert has been available in 2 variants:

  • Radio concert I – with integrated cassette player
  • Radio concert II – with integrated CD player

Below are the 2 generations of Audi TT 8N radios

The 1st generation of radios
The Radio chorus I and concert I were supplied as factory options until 1st half of 2001. The concert I with more specifications such as

  • Dolby B®
  • CD changer connection
  • Traffic information memory (TP memo)

The 2nd generation of radios
From the 2nd half of 2001, the second generation became available, simultaneously for the chorus II and the concert II. Whereby the concert II was fitted with an integrated CD player as the main difference.  For the chorus II too, CD changer connection and TP (traffic information) are standard.

In detail, there are more variants

For the correct part number over the years, there are quite a few variations. See ETKA's screenshot of what was available. In any case, the TT 8N was produced in the 2nd half of 2001 with both radio chorus II and concert II.

Radio chorus and concert are generic names for the Audi
The radios chorus and concert come in different variants for the A3, A4 and A6, for example. Sometimes the front is a bit larger and in other variants the buttons cannot be recessed. As a result, these do not fit the in the TT 8N. So always check the part number when buying or even better that the buttons can be countersunk.
