Rims for the TT came in 3 sizes. Standard 16-inch and option for 17 and or 18-inch ex-factory. From the 165 kW version onwards, 17-inch was standard. In the Netherlands, only the summer wheels were supplied and the winter sets were not available to order. Couple of standouts:

  • 6-spoke design 18-inch is often attributed to the 3.2 V6. This is because this rim was standard for the V6 3.2 in the UK. Only the European countries the standard 6-arm wing design was 17 inches. Another striking feature of this rim is that, at 7.5J, it is narrower than all other 18-inch rims (8J).
  • 6-arm design 16 & 17-inch comes in a special version for snow chains. Both are then 6J suitable for snow chains. The 17-inch is then 1.5J narrower than the other 17-inch rims. And the 16-inch 1J narrower than its summer variant in the same design.
  • 9-spoke design 18-inch of this rim comes in no fewer than 3 variants
  • - Silver colour (1H7)
    - Titanium matt (8AU)
    - Silver / titanium (TNG)
Reproductions of this 9-spoke rim were also made. Often in a multi-spoke version with 5x100 and 5x112.
  • 5-double spoke design 18-inch is a Votex variant rim ex-factory used as part of the Advance Package Plus version of the TT. This version was the run-out offer before production was going to stop of the TT on the German market in early 2006.
  • 15-spoke design 18-inch was there exclusively for the Audi TT quattro sport version (240 hp) of the TT Coupé. Detail is that it was 8J wide for the front axle and 8.5J on the rear axle. At 235/40 R18, the tyre size was also just a bit wider than on the normal TTs with 18-inch rims. This quattro sport rim is also there in a reproduction. So beware of fakes. It can often be recognised by the lack of the polished rim.
