After Frankfurt and Tokyo in 1995, it is unfortunately not the case that we enthusiasts get to see the concept versions of the TT Coupé and TTS Roadster concept regularly in the wild. Only occasionally does one of them emerge from the cellars of Audi Tradition. The latest appearances were almost always linked to an anniversary year.
2014: The TT Coupé concept enriches the introduction of the 3rd generation TT
In 2014, Audi released the third generation of the TT (FV / 8S), proudly drawing on the rich history of this model. The TT Coupé concept was proudly presented alongside the latest version at a special event in Munich in September 2014. This launch marked Audi's confirmation of the TT as an iconic sports car within the automotive world, where it all began.
2018: The TTS Roadster concept in the Spotlight
On the TT's 20th anniversary, Audi introduced a special version, available as both Coupé and Roadster. The Roadster came with the iconic Baseball/Mokassin interior.
This was the perfect time for Audi to show the TTS Roadster concept during press launches. In the video opposite, you can see the TTS Roadster concept passing by regularly while AutoRAI TV discusses the anniversary version of the TT 8S Roadster.
2019: The TTS Roadster concept in the Audi Forum
In mid-2019, the Audi TTS Roadster concept was unexpectedly exhibited at the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt. This unique opportunity gave the public a chance to admire this beautiful car up close. A foretaste of what would follow a few years later with the ‘State of the ArTT - 25 Jahre Audi TT’ exhibition where the TT Coupé concept will be on display.
2021: The TTS Roadster concept celebrates 50 years of ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’
During the 50th anniversary of ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’, Audi Austria (Porsche Holding Salzburg) packed out an impressive exhibition. The TTS Roadster concept shone for two months and attracted a lot of attention.
A full-on circus performer, the TTS hung in a sort of swing along with some 10 siblings from the 1969 NSU RO 80 (prototype) to the 2002 A2 TDI.
2023: The TT Coupé concept in the spotlight
The most extensive showing of one of the concept models took place in late 2023 at the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt. Audi celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Audi TT with the ‘State of the ArTT - 25 Jahre Audi TT’ exhibition. All generations were on display, including some special versions such as the Audi TT 2.7T V6 - RS4 B5. Some models were even borrowed from TT enthusiasts, giving the public the unique opportunity to see and touch the 1995 Audi TT Coupé concept up close. A reason for many to pay a visit.
