As a 3rd option (besides Coupé & Roadster) for the TT, a Spider had been conceived. This idea can be seen as models 3A and 3B on Freeman Thomas' marketing sketches (7 March 1995).
The spider would:
- Have 39mm lower windscreen & narrower side windows
- Get hardtop as an option for lower drag
- Have stronger versions of the engines
- Feature quattro as standard
- Be specially built at Audi Sport
Quite a shame, though. Because this would have been a nice exclusive edition though.
