In the topic ‘TT 8N facelift: to be, or not to be’ it has already been mentioned, in its life cycle the TT had 2 types of wipers.
Conventional wipers - up to September 2002
In its early years, the TT 8N came with traditional / conventional wipers on a steel frame. Optically a bit more icy and less connection to the TT's curved windscreen. On the driver's side, fitted with a spoiler to give them just a little more pressure on the windscreen to fit and wipe better.
Flatblade wipers - from September 2002 onwards
Along with some other changes (logos and the 3-blade grill), the TT 8N was fitted with so-called Flatblade wipers at the end of 2002. Slowly, this became the standard during that period. Mainly due to the advantages that they fit better and keep wiping better even at higher speeds due to their aerodynamic shape. Mainly because the jerk is more evenly distributed over the entire window, unlike the 4 to 8 pressure points of conventional wipers. The flatblade wipers are very well known as Bosch's Aero(twin), but factory TT came with SWF wipers.
